Anglo-Saxon Literature
There is a variety of A-S literature online. Those most relevant to Alfred are the Anglo Saxon Chronicle, and Asser's Life of Alfred. A more complete version of the Chronicle is available at Britania. For a bit of a change of pace, try the Electronic Beowulf

There are some good sites out there, some catering to academia, and some to enthusiasts.

Internet Resources for the Anglo Saxon World at Nottingham University, self explanatory
Angelcynn , a living history group, manage a large site on all things Anglo-Saxon, including an entry for Alfred
Regia Anglorum is another site of articles and resources, run by the living history society of that name
